Low-E Coating

Low-emissivity (Low-E) glass features a microscopic metallic coating that reflects radiant heat energy, helping keep warmth inside during winter and reducing solar heat gain in summer. Our Low-E glass is specifically designed for New Zealand conditions, ensuring it performs effectively across our climate zones.

Argon Gas

All of our double-glazed units are filled with argon gas, a denser, inert gas that improves insulation by slowing the transfer of heat between glass panes. Combined with advanced warm-edge spacer technology and high-performance sealing systems, this helps reduce gas dissipation over time, supporting long-term thermal performance.

Thermally Improved Spacer

Thrmal.png

Each double-glazed unit uses a thermally improved warm-edge spacer to separate and bond the two panes of glass. Unlike traditional aluminium spacers, warm-edge spacers reduce heat transfer around the edge of the glass, helping improve overall insulation performance. This technology also supports better argon gas retention and reduces the risk of condensation forming around the perimeter of the unit.

How did you hear about ComfortGlaze

Frequently asked questions.

Do you retrofit both aluminium and timber windows in Hamilton?

Yes. We retrofit double glazing into existing aluminium and timber frames throughout Hamilton and surrounding suburbs.

How long does installation usually take?

Most Hamilton homes with aluminium frames  are completed within one to two days, depending on size and scope. Timber windows take a bit longer, more like three to five days.

Will double glazing help with condensation and cold winters in Hamilton?

Yes. Double glazing significantly reduces condensation and heat loss, improving comfort during colder winters.

Do you remove windows overnight?

No. All work is completed on site, and windows are never left unfinished overnight.

Can you modernise older aluminium joinery?

Yes. We can remove colonial bars, redundant mullions, and unused doors while upgrading to high-performance double glazing.

How much does retrofit double glazing cost in Hamilton?

Retrofitting existing frames is considerably more affordable than replacing full window units. Pricing depends on window size, quantity, and glass performance, and we provide clear, obligation-free quotes for Hamilton  homes.

Nicky Sevier, Christchurch

On the 19th January your team of extremely competent young men arrived to install our retrofit . double glazing after patiently waiting while we struggled with health issues which we greatly appreciated. They showed such care to the install and worked so well as a team.
They were very efficient, caring and respectful and the end result is we have a wonderful warm cosy house which is so quiet we can't even hear the dogs barking next door. It is absolutely fabulous. One very large window which we had been told could not be double glazed was fitted by your boys seamlessly and it was exciting to see it going in. We would highly recommend Comfortglaze for any of your window needs, they are an extremely competent, friendly and wonderful company to deal with.
